I’m not a parent but constantly hear of parenting woes specially when it comes to kids and food. My nephew at a tender age of 6 seems to have extremely strong opinions on food and catering to his whims and fancies and be exhausting. To try and create food  that he might enjoy  specially when it comes to food for his school Tiffin box, is not my area of expertise but when I came across these adorable little cookie cutters I thought I might experiment. The cookie cuts came free with a recent Big Basket purchase of Kissan Mixed Fruit Jam…

One of my favorite snacks is granola. I enjoy it at breakfast in a parfait with some yogurt or in the evening as a granola bar or even just something to munch on through the day. The recipe is really simple and the best part is you can customize it whichever way you like. I must admit I’ve bought plenty of granola from various shops and brands but now I prefer to make it at home because I get to control how much of sugar I add to my recipe. This one has no added sugar, just the regular ingredients…

There are very few people I know that dislike potatoes and I for one am absolutely in love with them. I don’t discriminate, I eat them in all their various forms – fried, baked, boiled, mashed or any other way they’re presented to me. I’ve been making a conscious effort to avoid them since they clearly are my weak spot and for the most part, I’m successful. However every once in a while I will complete cave into my cravings and whip up a small batch of potatoes. This time I thought I’d try something new. I’ve stopped frying completely. In…

I’ve started what I call my breakfast series on the blog recently and uptill now it only had a roundup of places I’ve visited for their breakfast spread. This is my first attempt at sharing a breakfast recipe. I’m trying my hardest to think of simple and innovative ideas for breakfast that are easy to make, don’t need much prep ( since I’m always in a daze in the morning ) and most importantly are slightly healthy. I’m trying my hardest to stay away from anything that has too much butter, sugar or any flour at all. It’s not easy…

I find breakfast to be the most interesting meal of the day. Despite skipping it when I’m having a busy morning bursting with meetings or  the fact that my breakfast affair at home is a rather modest one, it is still my favourite meal. It is usually when I travel that I do the most justice to a hotel breakfast buffet or the occasional weekend indulgence like I did recently. As I mentioned in a previous post, I’m going to now start taking the time to do more breakfast based reviews and this is my second one in what is…

One of the most exciting meals when I travel is breakfast. When I’m at home it’s nothing fancy maybe the odd egg or toast but when I travel is when I really indulge and do justice to a breakfast buffet. I was recently asked to meet someone over a breakfast meeting and while it sounded very tempting, the reality of waking up and getting ready so I could reach on time was far from delightful. To make matters worse my meeting was scheduled at the other end of where I live, temptingly close to the international airport ! If you…
