Punjab is one Indian state that has made an impact globally. When the west thinks of India, they often associate Punjab or Punjabis and that’s because the entire state is full of history, culture and life. The city that seems to represent best what Punjab is all about is the capital Amritsar and having recently spent time exploring I can happily say that Amritsar is a fantastic city to visit. It’s a bit of a stretch for us in Mumbai with a two hour flight but it’s an ideal Weekend getaways near Delhi . It’s not a difficult trip to plan…

There are always cities or countries on my wishlist. Places I’m curious about or can’t wait to visit. Amritsar however never featured as one. My sister has been talking about visiting the city and specially the Golden Temple and I always thought yes I’m sure it will be lovely, but I never had a burning desire to visit thinking it was more hype than anything else. I have never been happier to have been proven wrong. Thanks to an exclusive media invite for the launch of the Taj Swarna hotel in Amritsar I spent two days enjoying everything the city…

I honestly had no idea what to expect with Macau. It wasn’t a destination I had longed to visit. It wasn’t a place where a lot of folks I know have been nor did I think there was anything to it except for their casinos. I made a last minute decision to pop over to Macau since I was visiting Hong Kong and I’m so glad because those two days spent in Macau turned out to be packed with fun and so memorable it’s actually made me want to re visit. Two nights isn’t much to really do justice to…

After five days of exploring the different parts of Israel, I found myself being driven to its financial capital city with a very fitting song  ”  Yahabibi Tel Aviv ” blasting from the car radio. I had no idea what to expect. So far Israel had turned out to be the most delightful surprise and I couldn’t imagine Tel Aviv to be any different. What I hadn’t envisioned was leaving with an extremely heavy heart after two days of exploring this vivacious city. The city is liberal, accepting, and so full of life and colour that no matter how many…

I remember the rush of excitement as I planned for my trip to Israel. I usually don’t research too much because I like to be surprised but the one thing I always do is make sure I know what local dishes to try. To my disappointment the internet kept throwing up dishes I already knew of like hummus or falafel or even shakshouka and I kept thinking ok that’s great but I want to eat what the locals are eating! Well, the locals are eating exactly this! Israeli cuisine is quite possibly the youngest cuisine. After all, the country was…

It’s that time of the year when I can’t quite decide how I feel about the new year. 2016 was a bit of a rollercoaster but for the most part all positive for which I am deeply grateful because I really can do without the drama. I was fortunate enough to tuck in a fair bit of domestic and international travel which quite honestly gives me the greatest joy. People always find it strange but I seem to be happiest at airports and hotels completely haggard and surviving on barely any sleep and superb intense itineries. No matter the stress…

I was planning a trip to Hong Kong this year and for some reason got a lot of flack about being excited to visit Disneyland. Some friends told me it’s just for kids and Ocean Park has the better rides but for someone who grew up in the warmth and comfort of Disney and basically lived in Cartoon land, how could I not visit one of the happiest places on earth! I’m one of those people that wish they never grew up. I couldn’t contain my excitement for Disneyland and I wasn’t disappointed at all. While of course there were…

When I thought of Jerusalem I always thought of it as a place for religion. I thought it would be a desert land all solemn and pious, devoid of anything except religious sites, I mean it is the Holy land after all. When I actually found myself in the Holy land driving around, I realised that this is as much a regular thriving cosmopolitan city as any other. Jerusalem is actually beautiful with its building built with traditional Jerusalem stone, the old city which to say is soaked in culture and history is an understatement and the lush thriving cafes…

Thailand is one country I just do not get tired of visiting. There is plenty to explore and enough to ensure that you have the time of  your life. Bangkok is a great stop for cultural exploring and shopping but for a more relaxed stay and some fun in the sun I prefer to hit any of the many islands in the country. Koh Samui is the third largest and has a reputation for being exclusive to honeymooners. I must admit it is an absolute dream for the loverbirds and after all the wedding madness, an ideal spot for some…

For me travelling is the key to my personal happiness. I find it therapeutic, relaxing, invigorating, exciting and a massive eye opener. There is nothing more soul satisfying than exploring a new city or country and learning about their culture. The world really is my oyster and as I travel I find I break a lot of silly misconceptions and stereotypes I had in my mind. I think the media plays a big part is this or maybe just the fear of the unknown but it’s a great feeling to create your own impressions about a country and debunk some…
