The Kingdom Of Bahrain – A Photo Diary

I have this really silly travel theory where I always though that the countries closer to me and more accessible to me should be visited later and the ones that are further way should be visited first. I have no reasonable or logical or even sensible thought behind this idea but this is why I didn’t go to Sri Lanka till work took me there this year and I fell in love. It is also the same bizarre reason why I’ve never been to the Middle East or the Gulf region. While I don’t discriminate with countries it just seemed to make sense to visit the ones that were a short flight away later ( I do realize that most folks do it the other way round but when have I ever done anything most folks do ). This month I had a quick trip to the Kingdom of Bahrain that marked my first visit to the Gulf ( not even Dubai if you can believe it ) and while I didn’t know what to expect,

Two travel bloggers from different parts of the world had been before and both spoke so highly of the country that it has piqued my curiosity. I ended up having an amazing trip and came home longing to re visit just like they did. The thing with most trips because of work or the time I can spend away from work is that they tend to be short ones and while I usually extend even work trips to soak in a place, this time I just couldn’t and managed to enjoy Bahrain in a measly three days. Soaked in as much as I could, Ate as much as I could stomach ( my god the food is incredible ) and learned as much as I could about their culture from incredibly friendly locals. Should I visit again, I’m going to spend more time sight seeing and understanding their food better but till then, these are a few pictures from my blissful weekend in the Kingdom of Bahrain.

I will write another post on my highlights of Bahrain and also post some recipes of the dishes I enjoyed the most. If you’ve been to the country or live there and have tips or suggestions about Bahrain I’d love to hear them!

  1. Before you post, Triple T, more highlights
‘Twould be great if you’d caption these sites
    By the sea, we’ve cooled
    O’er the food, drooled
Now tempted, in person, to see these sights!
